- "Craft columns and stairs."
A builder's bench is a crafting surface for a blockhead to create columns and stairs out of various types of blocks. It was added to The Blockheads in version 1.5, originally named the stonemason's bench.
Appearance[]
When placed, a builder's bench appears similarly to a block of stone, hollowed out to fit a block of limestone, which, in turn, contains a small block of marble.
A level 2 builder's bench adds an even smaller gold block inside the marble and the entire bench goes more yellow in color.
Where Found[]
A level 2 workbench is required to make a builder's bench. It has one upgrade.

Using[]
Like other crafting surfaces, a builder's bench must be placed on top of, next to, or below a solid block, on backwall, on top of, next to, or below another bench or chest, before it can be used.
Tapping on a builder's bench gives two options: Remove and Builder's Bench.
Remove causes the selected blockhead to move to the bench and place it in his/her inventory.
Builder's Bench opens the crafting menu, showing a left-right scrollable list of icons. See Crafting for details about how to use the menu. Tapping the "Craft" button (if visible) will add the task to the selected blockhead's queue.
Tapping outside of the menu will close the menu with no action taken.
Notes[]
Prior to version 1.6, the stonemason's bench only held the stone, limestone, marble, sandstone, red marble, lapis lazuli, basalt and ice columns and stairs, and it only had one level (current level 1 appearance). The other columns and stairs were either new or moved from other benches:
- Wood columns and stairs were originally from the woodwork bench.
- Brick columns and stairs were originally from the kiln or the electric kiln.
- Copper, tin, bronze, iron, steel and gold columns and stairs were originally from the metalwork bench or the electric metalwork bench.
- The remaining columns and stairs - glass, black glass, carbon fiber, titanium and platinum columns and stairs - were introduced in the update.
